This private tour takes you off the beaten path to explore the hidden glacier tongues of Vatnajökull—the largest glacier in Europe.
Departing from Höfn, we journey into the heart of Vatnajökull National Park, where, depending on weather and road conditions, you’ll have the opportunity to visit 3 to 4 of these secluded and rarely seen glaciers.
Most of these glacier tongues are not easily accessible, but with the expertise of your experienced driver-guide, you’ll enjoy a safe and unforgettable adventure through this breathtaking landscape.
The tour includes moderate hiking, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended. Along the way, you’ll pause for a scenic outdoor picnic lunch with views of the glacier—an experience as refreshing as it is memorable.

At the end of the tour, we will return you safely to your accommodation.
Please note
Moderate hiking is needed for this trip. Please dress according to the weather and be in comfortable hiking shoes. Please prepare your own picnic lunch to bring along for the trip.

What do I need to bring?
- Clothes for the weather (we recommend multiple layers);
- Comfortable walking shoes/hiking shoes (high heels are not recommended due to the rocky landscape in Iceland);
