In this blog, I will be talking about some of the best luxurious hotels in Iceland and I will let you decide which one deserves a spot on your bucketlist.
Many of the hotels we will talk about in this blog are located in the south and southwest areas of Iceland and in Reykjavik.
The Black Pearl Apartments
The Black Pearl in Reykjavik is a luxurious option of accommodation while in Iceland. The hotel is designed as an apartment hotel and it has many options for the different needs of the guests. There are six apartments each one with different levels of comfort, amenities and space.

The style of the apartments is very modern with Scandinavian touches, all of them have white painted walls and minimalist style furniture.
Each apartment has amenities for your comfort, your convenience and for your security and also each apartment has an open kitchen and dining area.

The apartments have different capacities of accomodating guests as follows:
a Penthouse for max 5 guests,
a Deluxe Suite for max 6 guests,
a Deluxe Suite for max 4 guests,
a Standard Suite for max 4 guests,
a Junior Standard for max 2 guests,
an Economy Suite for max 2 guests.
The difference between all the apartments is the dimension of the space and the number of amenities you will find there. Many of the apartments have separate entrances so you can benefit from intimacy and comfort.
There are options for In-Suite breakfast, transport to and from the airport, car parking facilities, beauty and relaxing but all those services are not included in the price of the apartment.

Diamond Suites 5*
The second luxurious hotel we will talk about is Diamond Suites, a boutique hotel located in Keflavik, right on top of Hotel Keflavik.
Diamond Suites consists of five luxury suites, each one designed and decorated differently with high-end furniture, decorations and equipment. The suites are ranging from 320 to 500 square meters with spacious balconies so you will have enough space to feel like living in a kingdom.
The suites will delight art connoisseurs with their unique design and attention to detail. Each suite has Versace marble tiles inside the bathroom and some of them inside the room also.
If your stay is business-related then the Apple amenities provided in each suite will be helpful during your stay. In every suite, there is a 21“ iMac computer and Apple TV entertainment system together with a 52“ Bang Olufsen flatscreen TV, SONOS in-room music system, Coffee machine, LED coloured lighting, Free Private WiFi connection.
At Diamond Suites all suites have a large bathroom with Versace marble tiles design, oversized rain showerhead, large luxury whirlpool bathtub, walk-in shower, double sinks designed by Philippe Starck, sensor wash toilet bidet combination, luxury toiletries.

The diamond of Diamond Suites is the Ruby master suite with marble designed floors with Versace marble tiles and white wall decorations. The luxurious bed linen has nice contrasting colours with black and red. The headboard was hand-carved from a single piece of wood and it has a very luxurious design.

A floor heating system is warming the suites and you will have all the necessary amenities you need to make your stay even more luxurious (Bathrobes, slippers, luxury bed linens, remote-controlled curtains, safe, cordless phone, complimentary beverages in mini-bar). You will feel treated like royalty due to the impeccable service of the staff: daily housekeeping, front desk open 24/7, no minimum nights.
Being a boutique hotel, every suite is different and tells a unique story. There are five suites at Diamond Suites each one with a jewel-related name. Each room has a different style so you can book a suite where you will feel the most comfortable.
The Ruby Suite is the masterpiece of all suites being one the largest with many architectural details. The headboard was hand-carved from a single piece of wood.
The Sapphire Suite is suitable for the ones that love the mix between modern and classic architecture.

The Emerald Suite is the library designed one, with wood furniture and a vintage look. The walls of the suite are decorated with exclusive Mackenzie Childs wallpapers and lightning to create a nice warm atmosphere.

The Topaz Suite is the most modern decorated one. The furniture is modern and the lighting inside the room creates a futuristic atmosphere.

The Pearl Suite is an elegant one decorated with Swarovski crystals and white decorations that creates a romantic atmosphere just perfect for freshly married couples or brides.

John William suite is the largest one has the name of the late founder of the hotel and it has a mix of decorations between the Ruby and Sapphire Suites. The Suite has a private foyer and a large balcony with a jacuzzi.
The Diamond Suite package has a supreme luxurious atmosphere. This package gives you the opportunity to book the entire Diamond Suites hotel as a penthouse. The package includes also a Private Range Rover with a private driver, the possibility of having a private chef and a personal trainer.
Diamond Suites is for real a jewel when it comes to Icelandic hospitality.
Hotel Grimsborgir 5*
If you prefer a luxurious stay in the middle of nature far away from the never-sleeping city of Reykjavik, you can choose Hotel Grimsborgir.
Located 70 km from Reykjavik, Hotel Grimsborgir is right in the middle of the famous Golden Circle route.
The hotel has 15 buildings with a capacity of accommodating 240 guests in superior rooms, junior suites, suites, two-bedroom apartments, and deluxe apartments.
The buildings are built in the local architectural style and all of them have a Scandinavian interior design. The hotel has minimalist interior decorations and each type of room has all amenities needed for a luxurious stay and depending on the type they have extra amenities. All rooms have a balcony or terrace access and also access to some of the 29 geothermal hot tubs in the area that are both private and shared.

The hotel has free parking spots for all its guests. The hotel has also a restaurant with an a la carte menu and a capacity of 200 guests. During summer the restaurant terrace is open. The restaurant has live music every evening and you can enjoy some of the best Icelandic or international dishes.

All types of accommodation have a buffet breakfast included in the price of the room and access to a terrace with private/shared hot tubs. The buffet breakfast is served at the hotel restaurant.
Many of the accommodations at Hotel Grimsborgir are suitable for big families or groups. You can choose between a superior room with 8 bedrooms, an apartment with 2 bedrooms, a deluxe apartment with 4 and 5 bedrooms or a two-floor cottage with 4 bedrooms. There are also more intimate options just for two people: the superior room or the suite.

The Deluxe apartments have access to a patio with a hot tub and barbecue area.

Hotel Grimsborgir is a luxurious place to stay in the middle of Icelandic nature far away from the crowded area of grater Reykjavik.
Hotels at the Blue Lagoon 5*
Blue Lagoon is the supreme jewel of Iceland and is offering a complete experience even if you are just relaxing at the spa or if you stay in one of their luxurious hotels.

There are two hotels at Blue Lagoon and both of them gave a new definition to luxury in Iceland. They are located in the middle of the lagoon and the landscape around is just out of the world. The floor to ceiling windows will delight your eyes with the breathtaking views outside the room.

Silica Hotel Blue Lagoon 5*
Silica Hotel has three luxurious types of rooms: Lava Deluxe, Mountain Deluxe and Silica Deluxe.
Each room has a terrace from where you have incredible views of lava fields and mountains around Blue Lagoon and also a view of the Silica Lagoon.
At the Silica Hotel guests have a premium entrance to the Blue Lagoon, access to the Silica Lagoon, use of the fitness centre and complimentary breakfast included in the room price.

Retreat Hotel Blue Lagoon 5*
Retreat Hotel at Blue Lagoon is the most luxurious hotel in Iceland. Is also the most award-winning hotel for its design and for the experience and treatment of the guests.

The Retreat Hotel has six suites and all of them have á la carte breakfast, access to the Retreat Spa and the Blue Lagoon and Blue Lagoon skincare amenities included in the price.

The Blue Lagoon Suite is the largest suite in the hotel 230 sqm built on two levels with two bedrooms and a living room area. The Suite has also a private spa, sauna, and steam room.
